Dear Parent or Guardian of a Prospective Cub Scout:
Does your son want to go to college? To become an astronaut?
80% of astronauts were scouts. And even better, men who were scouts are far more likely to earn a 4-year degree.
You have an unique opportunity to take advantage of what the Cub Scout program has to offer you, your son and family. For many of you, this is your first exposure to us. Whether your son becomes an astronaut is up to him, but we will help him explore all sorts of opportunities.
During your son's first year in Cub Scouts, regardless of his age, he will be able to see, do and learn things that he won't be able to repeat elsewhere. It's about making things and camping and bows and arrows, but there's lots more that kids don't generally think of when thinking of Cub Scouts.
Consider your time with us as your Òyouth development" resource in raising a family.
Organized sports are great, but we can add an extra, complementary dimension like creativity and problem solving abilities they will need to succeed. As a parent, you'll participate in the activities with your son, giving you the opportunity to share his experiences and witness his accomplishments from the best possible vantage point Ñ right alongside him. Learning and having fun will always begin with participation. Scouting is flexible and user-friendly. Visit www.TRCBSA.org for more information and contact numbers Ñ you've made a good decision Ñ welcome to the Scouting family!
